  plex module for n7700SAS
Posted by: Joe_Wulf - 03-09-2018, 08:57 AM - Forum: Thecus Modules - Replies (3)

yes, I know this is an older NAS, but I've had 99.99999% uptime in the past 8 years using it.

It originally had a plex module, years ago.... haven't used it.
I've recently backed up all my data, and successfully upgraded the firmware to v5.03.02.8.
Now that I'm looking for the plex module, it isn't there.  <sigh>

I've checked the Thecus.com support download page for the N7700SAS, and there is no module there for the plex media server.

Where can I get that please?

Thank you.

R,
-Joe

  Remote Backup issue
Posted by: Redbacks - 03-05-2018, 12:17 PM - Forum: N5550 - No Replies

OS 7.0 for both NAS

I'm trying to do a remote backup from one NAS subfolder to another NAS subfolder, problem, the system is doing nothing with the transfers, it's much quicker for me, to manually copy 200gig, than your remote backup app can do, it can copy a root directory to a new NAS root directory. But anything else is a headache. Waste of time.

  Printer Configuration
Posted by: Blackbear199 - 03-02-2018, 04:00 AM - Forum: N4810 - Replies (2)

Should'nt this be saved somewhere?

What i mean is for example i dont use my printer alot so i switch it off.
If my NAS reboots the printer configuration is gone,if i turn it back on(printer) i need to edit the name again as it goes to usb-printer.

Should'nt the configuration be saved until i choose to delete it?

I realize i dont use it in a ideal enviroment like a office(where it would be on all the time) but if i did every NAS reboot or pwr loss the printer would need to be reconfigured and added again to all pc's as the existing configuration doesnt seem to work when this happens(status shows a cups error).I delete it and add it again as a new printer and it works until the next time.

  Modern Motherboard for N5200pro case?
Posted by: dlaloum - 02-22-2018, 12:50 PM - Forum: N5200PRO - Replies (1)

Hi Folks,

the N5200's are getting "long in the tooth" - just wondering whether the motherboard is of a standard format that could be replaced with a lower power consumption / higher power current generation motherboard.... (and then choose a relevant OS, etc...)

Or is it a totally custom format?

Thanks

Modified date changed to actual date
Posted by: wbree - 02-19-2018, 03:21 AM - Forum: N5550 - No Replies

I was deleting some maps on my NAS and suddenly most of the other maps and files changed their "modified date" to the actual date of the system.
How can I go back to the original dates?

  Official NAS Apllication Issue.
Posted by: DeNiro - 02-03-2018, 02:20 PM - Forum: N4520/N4560 - Replies (1)

Hi.

Have had loads of issues with N4520 recently (as posted). Left the NAS turned off for a few weeks, came back to it to have another go and the issues it had before have gone!!

Another issue has arisen now and that is when I go into Official Nas Application, there are no apps and a Message Box pops up with "On offline mode, here you can install/uninstall app and system file" and I only have the option to OK it (see attached).

I have read of a similar issue to which a reply was given to make sure the DNS settings were correct and mine definitly are. I have reset to factory default and even read some other threads that point to URL's that are invalid.

Is there anyone who can help me resolve this please as all I can use it for is a file or backup server instead of being able to add the apps I had on it before?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Bob.

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with the Rsyslog module.

I tried to put all logs on a Mysql DB but the module failed to load. I got this warning:

How to roll back N5810PRO to OS5
Posted by: wcronje - 02-02-2018, 02:47 AM - Forum: N5810PRO - Replies (1)

Hi - I am having endless problems with OS7 on my N5810.

I have been reading that a lot of people are rolling back from OS7 to OS5. I have been having endless problems with RAID failure, HDD failure, RAID rebuild failures etc etc etc. I cannot keep buying new drives. I had almost no problems on older OS'e.

Also, Thecus.com seems to be down.

Can anyone provide me with a link to download OS5 as well as instructions without losing my RAID 5?

Would appreciate help.

Thanks
