  N5810 fan control
Posted by: phtran - 05-21-2017, 02:50 AM - Forum: N5810PRO - Replies (2)

I'm finding unusually high drive temperatures in my N5810, running OS  The drive temps get as high as 77C.  Room ambient is climate controlled at 22C.

The fan control was set on Auto.  Fan speed has mostly been 300 RPM, and increases to 2500 RPM when there's a lot of NAS activity.

I feel that on Auto, the minimum RPM is too low.  However, the other fan options fix the fan speed to 1500, 2500, and 3300 RPM.  The fixed middle and high settings are too loud for continuous use, and the fixed low setting is not fast enough for high NAS activity.

Ideally, I'd like fan speed to be 1500 RPM when the NAS is idle and adaptively increase when there's activity.  Is there a way to limit Auto fan control to not go lower than 1500 RPM?

Also, when I cat /proc/hwm, HDD_TEMP1 and HDD_TEMP2 are both always 0.  Is this normal?  How does Auto fan control monitor drive temps?

N2810pro - no shutdown after new firmware and bios update
Posted by: heesters - 05-20-2017, 06:59 AM - Forum: NAS from 2 to 5 bays - SMB - Replies (3)

a few days ago, i´ve bought the device n2810pro. Without updating the firmware, the shutdown and poweroff, done by OS or pressing the power-button, worked fine.
Now afterwards the system cannot be switched off anymore, without pressing a few seconds the power button.

Inside i use 2 WD RED 4TB as RAID-0 Btfrs.

How can i solve this problem ?

Thanks and best regards
