My Raid5 degraded due to a faulty disk. Bought a new disk (same model) and followed the instruction provided on the Thecus FAQ website.

The Raid5 is now rebuilding for 5 days. The LED of the new disk is flashing like crazy, while the LED of one of the other disks is on all the time and the LED of third disk turns on and off within longer intervals in between. This is going on now for the last 2 days.

I reviewed the log files via the Thecus web client and I noticed that the rebuild starts and then it moves to degraded mod before starting again.

Example:
2012/03/22 22:49:29
N0503 : The system N0503 change to degrade mode.
2012/03/22 22:49:02
N0503 : The system N0503 is recovering the RAID and rebuilding is in progress.
2012/03/22 22:48:43
N0503 : The system N0503 change to degrade mode.
2012/03/22 22:48:13
N0503 : The system N0503 is recovering the RAID and rebuilding is in progress.

Is this normal? How long does a rebuild actually take? (note: I use 3 x 1.5TB disks).
