It seems I can't make it work. I created a user from proftpd web gui, but he can't login. It returns:

Response: 530 Login incorrect.
Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server

I have only yours mysql enabled and the database is installed right. I see the user record inside the table "usertable". I even removed and reinstalled the MySQL module, but it didn't help.

Then I tried to see if there was a problem with the proftpd config file, and reverted it to the orig default version. But it didn't help. Of course I restarted the proftpd before I test it.

Then I opened SSH and killed all the proftpd tasks, and restarted it in debug mode

and as soon as I tried to login with ftp user I got

It seems like it doesn't even check at mysql to find if there is such a user. Should I make any more confirguration at proftpd config file, against the default one? Do you have any clue what is wrong with the login? The ANON connection works just fine.

After some search I added the following at the proftpd config file

LoadModule mod_sql.c
LoadModule mod_tls.c

AuthOrder mod_sql.c
SQLAuthTypes backend
SQLBackend mysql
SQLEngine on
SQLAuthenticate on
SQLConnectInfo proftpd_admin@localhost username password
SQLUserInfo usertable userid passwd uid gid homedir shell
SQLGroupInfo grouptable groupname gid members
SQLUserWhereClause "disabled=0 and (NOW()<=expiration or expiration=-1 or expiration=0)"

with the above I started the proftpd in debug mode just fine but when a user with password tries to access it I get the following errors

Feb 03 15:06:26 N4800 proftpd[13100] N4800.thecus.com (192.168.1.3[192.168.1.3]): mod_sql.c: error initializing session: No such file or directory
Feb 03 15:06:26 N4800 proftpd[13100] N4800.thecus.com (192.168.1.3[192.168.1.3]): FTP session closed.

I also tried to add the following at the top of proftpd config file

LoadModule mod_sql_mysql.c

but when I start proftpd in debug mode, it returns

Feb 03 15:14:12 N4800 proftpd[19045]: mod_dso/0.5: unable to find module symbol 'sql_mysql_module' in 'mod_sql_mysql.c'
Feb 03 15:14:12 N4800 proftpd[19045]: Fatal: LoadModule: error loading module 'mod_sql_mysql.c': Operation not permitted on line 7 of '/raid/data/module/proftpd/sys/etc/proftpd.conf'

and unfortunately I am stuck here. Any help on that?

i am not sure really how handle this with mysql

i am only make the mod_sql:mod_sql_mysql in the shared flag

Unfortunately, I have the same problems. When I put "LoadModule mod_sql_mysql.c" at the top I get

Without this I get the same error on connection

but cant find where i found that... grrrrrrrr

Import to MySQL PhPMyAdmin done.

I've tested to install proftpd_1.3.5.4_x86x64.mod , Module Install **** ERROR **** : 23 at line 87.
