Using DataGaurd Backup
#1
Hello,
Is it possible to use Datagaurd to do a real time backup from or N7510 (Source) to our Thecus N8800Plus unit (Target) using the following options
Sync Type: Incremental
Compress: ON
Backup NAS Config: ON
Resume Partial Files: ON
Update Data Directory: OFF (What does this mean actually?? there is no note for it in the manual)
Handle Sparse Files: ON
Keep ACL Settings: ON

And then once a month set another Datagaurd backup to synchronise the N7510 to the N8800Plus so it gets rid of the incremental backups and all data that we do not need?

Cheers Guys

Dear Sir,

On theory Thecus N8800Plus just need enable the RSYNC target service, but this 2 NAS FW version is 2 difference generation thus we won't recommend to do this.
Yvon.
