Synology DSM for N2520/N2560
#1
Hi All!

First i want to thank Thecus for great hardware!
But the software you have is terrible...
I decided to improve the situation.
So I've managed to run Synology DSM v5.0 for DS214play on Thecus N2560!

I'm founder of QNOlogy project (Synology DSM on QNAP devices).
XPEnology is based on my primary patches, but it is a separate project.

I find that the Thecus N2560 is very attractive NAS and have good price/performance ratio!

Now i'm using my QNOlogy (based on QNAP TS-439 Pro II+) as main NAS
and SynoCus (Thecus N2560) as backup device with both DSM on it and I'am extremely happy.

Only one thing that stops me finish the job is Thecus does not provided the latest GPL OS6.1 sources belongs to N2560.
This link is for abstract device, there are no N2560 or N2520 custom definitions or info.
It is too shame and pity.

Thecus, please, post the recent OS6.1 GPL sources for N2560!!!

not sure what it misses in the GPL code...

OS6 is same than OS6.1 (just it moves the OS inside the eMMC)
this is a fedora 16 x86 based

I didnt checked this GPL code yet...

Source code provided does not have some modules.

there are lack of:
thecus_io module (\linux\drivers\i2c\chips\*_board.c),
gpio definitions (\linux\drivers\i2c\chips\*_gpio.c),
driver for PCA9536 (\linux\drivers\i2c\chips\pca9532.c)

but in N5550 GPL sources we have a \linux\drivers\i2c\chips folder with all necessary N5550 platform info:
(ich_gpio.h n16000_board.c n16000_gpio.c n2800_board.c n2800_gpio.c n7700pro_board.c n7700pro_gpio.c ..,.. .. etc).

I want to Theсus provided platform information for N2560/N2520 too.

Hello,

I'm really interested in this project. I recently bought a Thecus N2800 and I'm really disappointed with the Thecus interface (i'm comming from a Synology). And when I watch video via HDMI I have black lines on the image. While this works fine on my raspberry Pi.

Could you provide a procedure for backup the Thecus DOM and install Synocus (and a link to the latest release of Synocus).

If the possibility of using XBMC via HDMI does not exist in Synocus, in this case I would be oblige to return my Thecus N2800 Nas in favor of an HP N54L.

Thank you in advance.

Ptitsnake.

can't seem to find any other info

Release was delayed because I was not able to solve several important issues.
In particular, enable a built-in HDMI output and make seamless update.
