Hard Drive Sleep ?
#1
Hello,

I have 2 Raid grapes on my 7700pro ....One with 6x2to in Raid5 and one with 1to

I wanted to know if there is a way to switch off one raid and keeping the other one running ?

I have web server and download modules on the 1to and my data storage on the second one.

I wanted to "spare" the disk of the second one because te disk have already 22000 hours ! (I only need the second one at the office hours)

Thanks in advance !

Hi chocorem,

I am afraid there is no option to switch off on RAID and keep the master RAID running. But, did you try the HDD spin-down function?
In theory, if you enable the spin-down function, the whole RAID disks will sleep while no reading/writing activity.

Hi chocorem,

Regarding the HDD spin down failure, could you submit a ticket at <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://esupport.thecus.com/support/">http://esupport.thecus.com/support/</a><!-- m -->
