Please post here if you try this firmware update, along with you successes (or otherwise). Please include some information about your N4100PRO's configuration, HD model/capacity, memory upgrades, etc.

There have been many postings about in-operative N4100PRO after performing the previous V5 firmware update.

I have just done this and followed every step but when loading the N4100PRO_FW_5.03.01.2 firmware i get a "System firmware upgrade fail" message. I am stuck now as I have loaded the Upgrade.N4100PRO.V3toV5.bin patch and of course I can't reboot.

Please help!!!

I have tried downloading a different copy of the upgrades but the same issue.

Any good reason to upgrade from 5.03.01? I can't see anything in the release notes to make it worthwhile.

Please post your resolution to this issue - many users on this forum EITHER
1) have issues with V3 to V5 upgrades
OR
2) are hesitant to try V3 to V5 upgrades based on the postings here

HELLO? Anybody moderating this site? Why ask for experiences if you ignore them???

===== Original post =====

I tried this on my N4100PRO (existing SW version 3.00.05) and at the end it is still 3.00.05!!

v3 to v5 appeared to work (progress bar incremented), and without a reboot I loaded the file N4100PRO_FW_5.03.01.2.bin

After a few seconds and scrolling progress bars, the system produced the correct prompt "Do you want to upgrade?". Answering "Yes: produces the upgrading progress bar but it instantly goes to 100% and says successful.

After rebooting at this point, everything is the same as when I started, and the version is still 3.00.05.

Am I missing something?
