I tried 1x8 GB Corsair 1333 MHZ - no success
Then I tried 2x4 GB 1333 MHZ Corsair CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9 - success
Then I used the 4G patch: http://www.thecus.com/Downloads/beta/ATOM_RAM_4G.zip
Result: Memory: 8154 MB
It even works on firmware version N7510 V2.03.06.atom and I still have a working console output on my HDMI from the NAS. No graphic interface, only the terminalscreen, but it is working and I have 8GB in total available!!
Regards
Frank

Frank Hi Frank,
I didn't understand if ONE CHIP of 8GB (1x8GB) was working or not....
Were you able to use 1x8GB or not ?
Thanks - Yaron.

Hi Yaron,
with one single 8GB chip it is not working.
BUT, I will test it again using a second one, perhaps both channels have to be fit with a ram.

Rgds, Frank I don't think so, but it worth trying.
Please first try 1x8GB in the other slot (both a 1333mhz & 1066mhz if you have it).

Hi,
makes upgrading from 2GB to 8GB RAM a noticeable difference? E.g. if about 5 - 6 people access the NAS at the same time?
Cheers,
Chris

I upgraded my N7510 from 2GB to 8GB
2x4 GB 1333 MHZ Corsair CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9
I had to remove the MEM=4G parameter
Via telnet/ssh (or console) :
# mount /dev/sdaaa1 /boot
# vi /boot/boot/grub/menu.lst
So far i have noticed that my PLEX installation seems more responsive when managing and viewing videos.

Well I had 8GB but applied the V2.04.01.cdv firmware and back to 3GB. I modified the menu.lst and applied the patch and still only 3GB.

Well I never applied any patch just did the edit to the menu.lst
If this is the case then I will not be going to the new firmware. Didn't see anything of note that I absolutely need.
