Thecus official SDK - 6/17/2011 Version
#16
cvaudio Wrote:Hello Vincent,

I have the same question about N0503 : Is it because there is not yet V5 official release for this NAS ? (expected for a long time now !)

Claude

As long as you want to install the pre-release V5 for N0503, you can develop modules for N0503

Here is the link to download it

Impossible to connect thought Putty or Winscp

Mon Ip est bien attribué par mon DHCP, je la Ping... tout est ok
My IP is well given by my DHCP and pingable

SSH et GCC ne sont pas installé donc
SSH and GCC not installed so i did :

Apt-get update
Apt-get upgrade
apt-get install ssh
apt-get install gcc

tout s'installe mais toujours pas accés à la VM à distance.... Sad
All is setup but still no remote access to VM

Ils ont vraiment vérifier leur VM les Techos ???
Did you check the VM ???

Une idée ?
Anyone has idea ?

Hi Qoolbox,

When the VMDK starts, it will acquire a dynamic IP address from DHCP server. Could it be no IP assigned to the VMDK?

Thanks,

Hi John, Hard to say, i am not friendly with VMware... but my DHCP is my Internet Box (Freebox)

I didnt encounter this problem using the X64 VDMK version, the SSH connection works fine with putty and WinSCP.. delivered as it is...
but not with VDMK X86...and cannot fix it Sad

Can someone please direct my to better documentation for developing an add-on for the N16000/N12000 series. I have downloaded the vm and checked the documentation, i'm either too tired to understand or the documentation looks to be for the lower spec models. not the N16000/N12000 series.

Any help would be great, all i want to do is enable ssh on the 12000!

So i downloaded the VMDK, can someone please tell me the root password for it?

I logged in as admin with admin/admin, but can't install any packages because i need root access, and admin is not in sudoers file.

Any help would lower my frustration level from :x to :roll:

Fajo Reported me a bug when using the SDK ./create_module.sh doesnt close XML in install.rdf...

Quote:update: just opened a ticket (#WYK-900535) on this issue:

The script create_module.sh contained in mk_module of the module SDK created an invalid install.rdf. The closing tag "</rdf:RDF>" is not added at the end making it invalid XML.

Hello Vincent.
Could you please help me to understand what I am doing wrong while building the module?
I spent about three days trying to build and run my own module for Thecus N2200Plus V2.02.01 but had no luck.
This is some opensource program written on C.
I installed VMDK image from the <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://ftp.thecus.com/module/category-3/vmdk/">http://ftp.thecus.com/module/category-3/vmdk/</a><!-- m -->.
The sources built w/o any errors using arm-linux-gcc compiler, but when I run the binary file on the device I got an error 'Killed'.
Also I tried to build simple hello world program:

#include <stdio.h>
int main(void){
printf("Hello World\n");
return 0;
}

This built correclty but I got the same error 'Killed' on exec...
I tried to built static binary and used different -mcpu parameters but result the same...
What I am doing wrong?

PS Building the source on VM using the following command:
arm-linux-gcc -o hello hello.c

Hi there,

Unfortunately I'm not very helpful on this one. Could you please send an email to <!-- e --><a href="mailto:module@thecus.com">module@thecus.com</a><!-- e --> where you can receive support from our engineer team? In addition, if there is something wrong in our SDK, they'll fix it!

Best regards,

Vincent

Hi everybody,

i just would like to add some comments regarding this issue based on my own experience.
1. Basically when we talk about virtual disk and linux OS, i've seen that the best virtual system is not VMWare but VirtualBox...moreover VirtualBox is Free like VMWare player.

2. my test with the X86 VMDK has shown that some problems belong to renamed network interface eth0 to eth1. Maybe some of you will experience such issue, but in this case it is very important to have virtual system setup with Bridged Network and not NAT. Thus, as it is a server (Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) i rather prefere to have Static IP, therefore i modified the /etc/network/interfaces file as my /etc/resolv.conf.
After rebooting system everything is ok and i was able to upgrade & update system with:
Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install ssh
sudo apt-get install gcc

3. i was able to connect to virtual disk using FTPzilla, WinSCP or Putty. For FTPZilla don't forget to use port 22 and not standard port 21.
don't forget to use root as login and 123456 as password.

if you have any question, feel free to contact me Big Grin (even in French)
