Thecus N16000 RAID60 degraded ?
#1
Hi All,

I'm currently running 2x Thecus NAS N-16000 Firmware 2.04.06a across two different Campus building.

Can anyone here please assist me how to assign the 4x Hot Spare disks that were replaced with new ones into the existing RAID60 group:

Into this degraded RAID group:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Dear Sir,

1. Under HA mode, if went to manual rebuild the RAID volume, this is need stop HA and able to make this.
2. Current RAID is degraded, it is too late to add for spare or global spare.
3. If NAS doesn't power off or reboot since degraded, please try to hot swap the HDD which out of RAID, and system would auto add this HDD into RAID volume.
4. If item 3 doesn't work, please submit ticket from http://esupport.thecus.com let we check for you.

Hi Yvon,

Thanks for the reply.

When I tried to read http://www.thecus.com/download/manual/N1...110505.pdf on page #107, I cannot understand how to put the existing 4x HDD that is now considered as Global HotSpare into the RAID 60 Group with no downtime ?

FYI, the existing configuration was left by my predecessor so I do not know how to do it without causing any outage, so I need your step by steps guidance in this matter.

There are 4x Global Hot Spare disk, so can I replace the borken HDD 4x at a time and then insert it to the existing RAID60 group ?
